Rod mill basic structure

Rod mill is mainly composed of feeding part, discharging part, rotation part and driving part which includes gear box, small transmission gearwheel, electric motor and electric control. The hollow shaft adopts steel casting, the inner liner can be dismantled and changed, and the rotation gearwheel uses casting hobbing processing and inside the cylinder there are wearable liners which has good wear-resistance. This machine has stable operation and reliable performance.

Rod mill working principle

Rod mill is a horizontal cylindrical rotation device, driven by brim gearwheel. There are two chambers and grid. Material evenly goes into the first chamber from the feeding inlet through the hollow shaft in a spiraling way. Inside the first chamber, there are stage liners and ripple liners as well as different kinds of steel balls. The shell rotates to generate eccentricity, and this force brings ball to a certain height and then balls drop down by gravity, the impact is the grinding force to the material.
After the primary grinding, material enter the second chamber through segregate screen. In the second chamber, there are flat liners and steel balls which will further grind the material. After the secondary grinding, material is discharged from the discharging screen. Then the whole grinding process ends.
